Learn about operations on real numbers, solving linear equations, percent and proportion, and get an introduction to polynomials and statistics. This provides preparation for elementary algebra and subsequent algebra-related courses.

Prerequisites: (COMPASS-Pre-Algebra with a score of 25 or ASSET-Numerical Skills with a score of 32 or ALEKS Math Placement6 or 854-793 (may be taken concurrently) with a minimum grade of S or Accuplacer Arithmetic34 or Next-Gen Accuplacer Arithmetic with a score of 210 or ACT-Math with a score of 14)

834-110. Elem Algebra with Apps. (3 Credits)

This course offers traditional algebra topics with applications. Develop algebraic problem-solving techniques needed for technical problem solving and for more advanced algebraic studies. Topics include linear equations, exponents, polynomials, rational expressions, and roots and radicals. Successful completion of this course offers preparation in technical mathematics courses.
