This is a partnership program with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). Only a portion of the courses are offered at WCTC. You will ultimately complete your program and graduate from the partnership school, MATC.
The radiographer is a technologist who produces images of the human body to aid physicians in the diagnosis of injuries and disease. In this program, learn to perform duties including positioning patients to acquire needed films, selecting appropriate X-ray exposure factors, aligning X-ray equipment, processing images photographically or electronically, and storing and retrieving images.
The minimum required course grades and program grade point average (GPA) for students under this catalog are:
General Studies Courses = C
General Anatomy & Physiology = B- or higher within two attempts
Program GPA = 2.0
Program Outcomes
- Carryout the production and evaluation of radiographic images.
- Apply computer skills in the radiographic clinical setting.
- Practice radiation safety and principles.
- Provide quality patient care.
- Model professional and ethical behavior consistent with the A.R.R.T. code of ethics.
- Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills in the practice of diagnostic radiography.
